Qigong, neigong, bagua and tai chi are preparatory energy arts practices for meditation. Each opens the body and clears and develops chi—your vital life-force energy—so that when you come to meditate your efforts are put to good use.
The purpose of this seminar is two-fold: Paul will introduce specific practices for de-stressing and flowing with the demands of modern living, which are the primary reasons why most people meditate. He will also help you deepen the focus and internal content of your existing energy arts practice(s).
Become Present
Becoming present is absolutely essential in the process of releasing stress. This is why awareness training is a central theme in the internal energy arts. Your presence and intent are responsible for initiating and deepening every aspect of your practice from releasing your nerves, integrating your body and developing your chi. The more present you are, the better you will achieve any goal—in practice and in life.
Release Your Nerves
Directly releasing your nerves will help you to achieve deep relaxation, prevent the accumulation of damaging tension and enjoy life fully. Calming your nervous system is a core prerequisite for dramatically advancing your internal energy arts practice. It will also increase your ability to handle any hurdles that come your way outside of training.
Empty Your Mind
Emptying the mind will help you to release the nagging emotional energies of worry, anger, disappointment, loss and fear. As you release these negative emotions, you simultaneously open to peace and tranquility. This space deepens your ability to become present.
It’s a Positive Feedback Loop
You become present to --> use your intent to --> release your nerves to -->
become calm to --> empty your mind to --> become more present to -->
deepen the relaxation and further empty the mind.
This loop is a powerful tool for healing the body, smoothing the emotions and creating a foundation for spiritual practice. It goes far beyond only relaxing your body and mind from daily stress and can take you into true personal development.
Three Modalities of Practice
The practical techniques for achieving relaxation and deep internal content in your form will be presented through:
- Sitting whilst applying Longevity Breathingâ techniques.
- Standing with simple yet deep and effective qigong movements, incorporating components of internal power (known as neigong).
- Circle Walking to apply what you’ve learned in sitting and standing practices whilst moving, to help you more readily release bound chi and take these practices into your normal activities and daily life.
During the weekend, experienced practitioners can apply what they’ve learned into their existing qigong, bagua or tai chi forms. Beginners will continue deepening their training within sitting, standing, Circling Hands qigong and Circle Walking.
The three modalities—sitting, standing and moving practices—Paul will teach have been passed down to him by bagua, tai chi and meditation lineage master Bruce Frantzis, and have been practised for millennia. Hundreds of millions of people have used internal energy arts to reduce stress and become incredibly healthy and vibrant—they can do the same for you.
