You have the option to register for the entire series (Thursday-Sunday) below or each seminar (qigong or bagua) individually, as you like.

Dragon + Tiger Medical Qigong Energetics

These two evenings will either serve as a deep introduction or serious upgrade to Dragon + Tiger Medical Qigong.

Beginners or those with only a rudimentary understanding of Dragon + Tiger will spend both evenings delving into the layers of exercise 1 (of this seven-movement set), including:

  • Choreography
  • Neigong content that powers the form
  • Energy work that gives this medical qigong system its unique quality.

Continuously practising and consistently refining your technique on all three levels will provide all that is necessary to develop your body and chi. For those who already know the whole set, Paul will offer guidance on how to apply what is taught into the set.

Existing Dragon + Tiger Qigong practitioners will work directly with Level 2 + Level 3 energetics. Understand, however, that to fully realise these deeper levels of energetic development requires hundreds of hours of practise. That said, this course will give you more than enough to get you on the road towards generating abundant chi, and the group energy will enhance your personal results (serving as “breadcrumbs” to find your way back when training at home).

Once the energetic work is taught and you’ve had time to develop your technique, Paul will offer guidance on how to apply this flavour of chi work into various exercises in the seven-movement set.

In 15 years of teaching Dragon & Tiger, I consistently encounter students who say it is has been the easiest exercise system for them to delve into the concept of chi, and begin manipulating their chi. My personal experience is the same. —Paul Cavel

Bagua practitioners: The material taught in this course will be essential for realising the energetics and neigong taught in the Wind (Third) Palm Change on Saturday and Sunday.

Heaven + Earth Qigong Energetics

In these two evenings, Paul will continue the work started in January with high-level Dragon
+ Tiger energetics in the Heaven + Earth Qigong set. Since each seminar will be complete unto itself, you may participate in one or both courses.

Once you develop your ability to manipulate and move chi, you can use it to breakup and re-circulate stagnant chi and expel blockages at will. Paul will teach various layers of energetic principles through Heaven + Earth Qigong, specifically tailored to the skill level of those present. He will offer form corrections and upgrades for each student with the intent of helping you feel, manipulate and revitalise your chi.

Paul will oscillate between teaching choreography and fundamental internal content, imbuing your form with internal power techniques, such as:

  • Bending and stretching,
  • Turning and twisting,
  • Opening and closing,
  • Engaging the kwa as the engine, and
  • Basic energetic principles.

Advanced practitioners will also learn spherical energetic pulsation, which has colossal potential for supercharging your chi and dramatically raising your overall energy level. The spherical pulse really boosts health and self-healing properties by strengthening the etheric field and wei chi, the body’s natural first layer of defense against illness, disease and negative chi.

Beginners will learn fundamentals of the Heaven + Earth movement and the deep internal connections required for whole-body motion.

Everyone is welcome. Paul will not teach the Heaven & Earth Healing Qigong physical form in the second seminar; please attend the first seminar in the series to receive instruction on the physical mechanics or come knowing the Heaven & Earth Qigong form.

Series Information

Following each Heaven & Earth Healing Qigong seminar (Thursday and Friday evenings), Paul will teach Bagua Walking Meditation seminars on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). This qigong exercise consists of a single external movement that stretches all the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia, opening your body from the inside out. In the work of Heaven & Earth Qigong, the pulse (open and close) is also initiated, which can then be applied in bagua to gain maximum benefit from your walking meditation practice. Heaven & Earth Healing Qigong

3-4 February 2011: Integrating & Balancing Fire & Water Elements

Although the Elements of Fire and Water are opposites, both are responsible for developing chi. The Fire Element is manifested through your nerves whereas the Water Element is manifested through your fluids. Balancing the two is essential for reaching your full potential.

This seminar will introduce the physical mechanics of Heaven & Earth Qigong, providing a foundation for beginners and refinements for existing practitioners. The more accurate the external form, the more you can engage the internal content that ultimately cultivates health, healing and vitality. Paul will also teach neigong components that activates and integrate Fire and Water Elements through the various systems of the body.

Within the context of integrating and balancing Fire and Water in the body, Paul will teach:

  • Lengthening the soft tissues
  • Contacting and releasing the nerves
  • Opening and closing (pulsing) the joints
  • Activating the neurovascular bundles
  • Applying the 70% rule to working with the Fire and Water Elements.

19-20 May 2011: Developing the Microcosmic & Macrocosmic Orbits to Supercharge Your Chi

The microcosmic and macrocosmic orbits are the primary means through which you cultivate energy within the Heaven & Earth Healing Qigong system. How much you can develop your energy depends upon the level of internal content imbued in your external form and the quality of your practice.

Although attendance of the first Heaven & Earth Qigong seminar is not required to attend this one, Paul’s teaching will pick up where the last one left off by introducing deeper practices for working with Fire and Water in the body.

You will learn techniques for:

· Indirectly and directly moving chi and unifying the two

· Increasing the circulation of blood and interstitial fluid

· Engaging and amplifying the microcosmic and macrocosmic orbits

· Laser versus soft focus to being to manifestation the mind’s intent

· Directly boosting the immune system.

These neigong practices are refined and profound and essential for maintaining health and healing. Paul will help you tune in and focus of the subtle, so you can develop your sensitivity to chi and fluid movement in your body. Eventually, in time and with practice, this internal work becomes the engine that drives all movement in qigong, bagua and tai chi.
